If

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too:
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream---and not make dreams your master;
If you can think---and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same:.
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings,
And never breathe a word about your loss:
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings, nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And---which is more---you'll be a Man, my son!

A birthday poem for a friend - Elaine Ong

Once so small, cute and tiny,
Now grown up, so pretty gorgeous and lovely;
Seventeen years of eating and growing,
Seventeen years of joy and blessing.

In school, reading, talking and laughing,
In an ice ring, Cheering, Skating and jumping;
With her around, exams gets very easy,
Cause she would help you, anyway she could, you see.

Life is tough, challenging and stressing,
"But hey! We're just seventeen!" she said relaxing;
Life still has a long way to go,
Be my close friend, and I will write you more poems, you know.

Happy birthday, Elaine, my dear friend,
Hope you'll have more birthdays, but not the end; *choy choy*
Keep wishing, wishing and wishing,
But please, don't forget me, you classmate and friend

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELAINE ONG MING-SAN!

It's amazing

It is amazing,
In these times of trials,
One could find peace.
Not in one's spouse,
Not in one's friends,
Not in one's family.
But in God.

Everything will surely fail one,
Will turn their backs on one,
Will disappoint one,
Will betray one,
But in these times of trials,
One could find peace in God.

One will find rest,
One will find peace,
One will feast,
Even when the enemies roar,
Even when the enemies charge,
Because one knows that God will be one's lead.

Better is a day in His presence,
Than thousands elsewhere.
He will hold one in His arms,
He will dress one in white robes,
He will be one's everlasting peace.
Surely, one will rest in the House Of God forever.

Even now,
Trails still prevail ,
Thunders shake,
Oceans rise,
Earth collapses,
Sky falls,
But one shall not be afraid,
Because one knows,
That He is with one,
For the rest of one's days

It's amazing,
It's amazing.

Just A Friend

A rose? Or a teddy bear?
Or just a simple card?
For me to make today special,
Was pointless from the start.

"I had enough," you said,
"Now we have to part,"
But for me, i need some aid,
Cause my heart was torn apart.

I tried to mend my heart by stitching,
But it never seemed to heal,
Because every time i see you smiling,
I'll never get to share them with you.

Day by day it passes slowly,
Like a snail climbing up a tree,
Without you, life seems so dull,
A day is like a year to me.

Words are cheap and easy to use,
To bless, to curse and sometimes to kill,
Please use them wisely, as well as u can,
If not, another heart will need a mend.

People might call you heartless,
Or a bitch that never cares,
But i said," Shut up! All of you!"
Cause my heart still holds your shares.

Letting you go isn't easy,
But hey, we are still learning to breathe,
If you enjoy your company without me,
Go ahead! And be free.

But listen to me my dear,
I am ready to be your friend,
Even it takes a year,
I'll be there for you, to hold, to hug, and to give you strength.

A poem for you!

A poem for a friend of mine, for her birthday..
Enjoy~

The Choco Poem

There was a girl named Sze Munn

Who loves to eat chocolate a lot,

Almost once she couldn't stop eating,

and almost all her tooth rot.

Today is her birthday,

Hoping I'll give her chocolate to lick

I say "No! that’s impossible,"

I'm afraid your teeth will all break

So many types of chocolate,

From white, dark, to mint

When I present her a chocolate omelet,

"No! Give me milk ones," she grinned

She's like a bar of chocolate,

Bitter sweet together the same

To ensure the ups and downs of life,

Be balanced so life wouldn't be as lame

After reading this poem,

I think she will be mad,

But hey! I'll slip in some chocolate,

So she wouldn't be too sad!

From your Bessie friend,

Me~

Emo poem

Midnight's here with me typing fast,
Really, the day sucked, but thank got it passed,
Many movements done, many words spoken,
But gosh, the emptiness in me, seem to have me awaken.

Couldn't define the feeling even if i tried,
Sad, or lonely? don't know which one is right,
Couldn't believe it would end up like this today,
Have close the chapter of the day this way.

Now that the midnight had gone,
clock ticking swiftly on and on,
Let me take a break, maybe a nap or so,
Hoping that tomorrow will be better, so let's go.
