Date : 19th April 2009
Participants : 17 schools, 44 platoons
Participants from 61st Petaling : 32 people
District march was yesterday, preparation started all the way back to 2 weeks before sports day. However, REAL practice started two weeks ago, a week after Sports day. We had about 2 weeks for practices, from kawad asas to formation.
Fortunately, we have Brian Lee
ANYWAYS, he's here to help us up with the marching formation and to bug us about everything else about kawad.
But we never really marched properly until we encounter these people.
The guys from Sekolah Menengah Agama Bestari.
But we never really marched properly until we encounter these people.
On the Thursday before "D day", Pn Sasni brought us to the site to survey the marching court. And these people walked in out of nowhere and started marching.
This was the form 5s last marching event, and we wanted to make it memorable. Our troop leader, finally agreed to join us in this competition. (THX CHIA CHANG!!) And almost all the guys in my batch joined too.
We were thinking, "how to make it memorable? Make more noise? Or sing stupid songs?" (wei jie.. eish). But, the competition itself left a deep memory for us.
Luckily, my camera have enough space to record some of these footage to show our people, and we were all pumped up and encouraged to march like them too. However, all we manage to change was our leg and hand movements. But that was enough to make the line good enough to win our school's sports day marching. (IF we ever get to turn the time back to a month ago.. gah).

WE GOT 2ND RUNNER UP IN OUR CATEGORY
Yes, and unexpected victory for me and for my scouters and for everyone. Woah, I guess our marching skills aren't that bad after all.
TO ALL MY FAIR AND BELOVED GIRL SCOUTS,

Eventhough you aren't in this platoon, you too suffered with us under the sun, suffered enough mosquitoe bites for the year, fainted enough for a lifetime, (Shi Zhen, eish eish). Thank you for joining the BSMMs to march, eventhough you wouldn't get to hear my sweet and manly voice commanding you. Don't worry, you'll have another chance some other time. =)
Oh yea, for those who doesn't know what im talking about, we have to exchange members with the BSMMs, or the PBSMs (they changed their names to Bulan Sabit Merah Malaysia) because we didn't have enough male members to make a platoon of 31 people, and they didn't have enough girls too.
Oh kay oh kay, getting on with the event, we left early to school yesterday morning, about 5 am, because many things not settled yet before the competition, formation, uniforms, paperworks, and etc etc etc and so on.
Left for MSU about 8 30am and reached destination 45 mins later. (Bus driver went detour around Shah Alam Stadium first before reaching MSU) The girl platoon was up second, so they were lucky, don't have to get stressed up like us, but they still have to stay under the sun. We went in around 12pm, and did our best. really hard to discribe the feeling inside the marching ring. Nervous plus stress, plus panic, plus all the above.
And about 1 30pm, the closing ceremony began.
When was announced as the 2ND RUNNER UP for kategori NGO(non government organisation) lelaki, me myself was astonished. Was it because there was no participants in this category? Or they were just playing a fool? Later I found out we didn't really suck that bad, (the hardwork actually paid off).
Also, I want to congratulate Jocelyn Tang Phiak Lin, or Joyce, or Ah Jo, or just Jo, for winning the BEST COMMANDER award for her category, (NGO Perempuan).
(No fair! I'm the one who lost my voice, not her! xD)
Afterall, everyone won something, and I've learnt a new catch phrase..

Unfortunately, the police cadets was disqualified from the competition because they don't have enough members to form a platoon of 31 people.
ANYWAYS, photos and videos will be posted real soon, because blogger is working really really slow now, couldn't post the pictures, and i have to rush to sleep.
