Psalms 23

Today, while I was chatting with Daniel, Benjamin, and Justin over lunch at Mc' D, we were talking about personal issues and "all that comes with it". Then we came to this verse, Psalms 23.

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

He makes me rest in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,

He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

Even if I walk through the valley of death,
I will not fear,
for you are with me;
your shepherd staff comforts me

You are my feast
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

This will be a very good verse to apply in our daily or rutine struggles in life. It really applies to me now. When we struggle through struggles and trails in life, and we have lost all hope, there is still something that we could look forward for... GOD, and His "know no limit" love and grace he provided for us.

Even the first line of this verse holds a great deal of meaning...
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

When the Lord became your guide and your leader, everything has been provided for you. In all sense.(including girlfriend)... and you wouldn't want any extra. His love is SO ABUNDANT that you will start giving it away, so much, that you couldn't contain.

The version up there is basic and easy enough to understand. So, always remember, when all things fails, GOD remains by your side.

Just A Friend

A rose? Or a teddy bear?
Or just a simple card?
For me to make today special,
Was pointless from the start.

"I had enough," you said,
"Now we have to part,"
But for me, i need some aid,
Cause my heart was torn apart.

I tried to mend my heart by stitching,
But it never seemed to heal,
Because every time i see you smiling,
I'll never get to share them with you.

Day by day it passes slowly,
Like a snail climbing up a tree,
Without you, life seems so dull,
A day is like a year to me.

Words are cheap and easy to use,
To bless, to curse and sometimes to kill,
Please use them wisely, as well as u can,
If not, another heart will need a mend.

People might call you heartless,
Or a bitch that never cares,
But i said," Shut up! All of you!"
Cause my heart still holds your shares.

Letting you go isn't easy,
But hey, we are still learning to breathe,
If you enjoy your company without me,
Go ahead! And be free.

But listen to me my dear,
I am ready to be your friend,
Even it takes a year,
I'll be there for you, to hold, to hug, and to give you strength.

Psalms 23

A psalm of David.
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

He makes me rest in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,

He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

Even if I walk through the valley of death,
I will not fear,
for you are with me;
your shepherd staff comforts me

You are my feast
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

Surely GOODNESS and LOVE will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

SMKSubang Jaya CF 2009

Once again, the Christian Fellowship of SMKSJ for this year began last Friday. Pn. Lim as our teacher adviser, and the commitee not yet decided. However, this year, i felt a strong urge to share my experiences i gained last year about the truth and grace of God to these group of people. I felt the need to contribute to this society and share with these Christians that I'll meet almost everyday in school, or in another words, the 'closest' Christian youths near me.

So, here's some pic from the first and previous CF meeting!

It's Hard To Let Go.. But I'll try

Dear myself,

The pass 5 months was the most memorable moment of my life. It was the period that had changed my life forever. Because i met a girl that is so important in my life. She taught me to be more confident in myself, and always to look towards the future.

Sometimes, some set backs, either big ones, or small ones will occur, but these set backs are the key in preparing you for a tougher life ahead. Treat it as some experience that helps us grow more and more mature as we age.

To forget her, someone so important and sweet in your life will never be easy.. But, no point dwelling upon someone that the love is already not there.. Remembering the past could also be harmful to one's emotion, especially hurtful past, or anything similar to it. Remember, bad experiences are not to be dwell upon, and to remind yourself how sucky your life was, but to be treated as a good teacher, never to repeat the same mistake again.

It might take weeks, or sad to say months for me to forget her.. But it'll come.. It'll work out.. It sucks but there will definately be a time where i would look back and say, "gosh. foolish me!".. But definately, I'll remember the good times and bad times we had for the pass 5 months, which marked the starting chapter of my life.

Maybe along the road, when i really grasp the real meaning of love, when i'm ready for life, coincidentally, she's there, who knows? God does. Haha. But remember never to predict your own or other people's future. That is the only joke that God will laugh at..

Always wanted her to know, i care for her, even if she leaves me. Thx for being there when i needed someone to know i exist, thx for being there to care for me when i'm down, and for making me special. I'll be there anytime you needed someone to care bout ya, just call my name. (=

It's hard to let go, but i'll try,

GOD CAN USE ANYONE -- Matthew 1:1-16; Luke 3:23-37

Matthew 1:1-16 NIV
Luke 3:23-37 NIV

This passage in Matthew recites Joseph's family tree, tracing his lineage all the way back to Abraham. Through this recital of family ties, Matthew proves that Jesus was a descendant of Abraham, the father of all Jews, and also a legal descendant of David, which fulfilled Old Testament prophecy. By proving Jesus' lineage, Matthew was proving Jesus' authenticity as the Messiah to his readers who were predominantly Jews. For Matthew, Jesus was the Savior of the Jews. Luke, on the other hand, traces Mary's family tree all the way back to Adam. He, too, shows Jesus' lineage through Abraham and David. I've always felt that Luke's tracing of Jesus' lineage through Mary had something to do with Luke's being a medical doctor. He was a stickler for detail. As a medical doctor, he would have been fully aware of how babies are made. So his tracing of Jesus lineage through Mary would be the only natural course for Luke to take since Mary is the only human parent Jesus had. The other interesting thing about Luke's recital of Jesus' lineage is that taking it all the way back to Adam illustrates that Jesus is the Savior of all people.
One of the more interesting things about the genealogy listed in Matthew is the mention of four women – something Jews rarely did. The bloodline, according to Hebrew tradition, passed through the father. In fact, it was so important that a man's bloodline be continued unbroken that, if a man died, his brother was to marry his widow and all children conceived through this second marriage would be the children of the first husband! But in Jesus' genealogy, four women are mentioned. Even more interesting is the character of the women. Tamar, in verse 3, was an adulteress (Genesis 38:6-30 NIV). Ruth, in verse 5, was a Moabitess (Gentile), not a Jew (Book of Ruth NIV). Rahab, in verse 5, was a harlot (Joshua 2 NIV). And Bathsheba, in verse 6, was the wife of Uriah and had been wrongfully taken by David – after David got her husband out of the picture by putting him on the front lines of the war and making sure he died in battle! (2 Samuel 11-12 NIV)
Another thing about Jesus' lineage (let's use the one in Matthew for simplicity) is the kinds of people He has in His bloodline. The most glaring fact is that Jesus was not a full-blooded Jew, getting some Gentile blood from both Ruth and Rahab. The secondary fact is that there were a lot of quite imperfect people, some of which we’ve already mentioned. Then, of course, there were the spiritual giants, like Abraham, Isaac, Ruth and David. And there were a lot of ordinary people, like Hezron, Ram, Nahshon, and Akim (who ever heard anything about these folks?). There were a few with rather rotten reputations, like Rahab the harlot and Tamar whose story is too long to recount here (If you're curious, it's told in Genesis 38 NIV... much more interesting than any daytime Soap!). Manasseh, who was king of Judah for 55 years, was such a rotten egg he caused Judah to be exiled and to lose everything. Abijah wasn't too great either. In fact, scripture says he committed all the sins his father did and did not "do right" in the eyes of the Lord.
And then we come to Mary.... the woman God chose to be the mother of His only begotten Son. If I had been in charge of picking the Son of God, I'd have chosen a Queen, wouldn't you? He'd have been born in the greatest city, to the most important family, with all the power and riches and advantages that life could bring. But God doesn't think like you and I do. Instead, He chose Mary... a young, “middle class” woman who lived in Nazareth, one of the most disliked cities in all of Israel. And to make matters even worse, Mary was not married. According to Jewish law, if she became pregnant out of wedlock, she could be taken to the edge of town and stoned to death!
You would think, wouldn't you, that God would have set up Jesus' lineage to come through only the best of the best. After all, Jesus is the only begotten Son of God. He is God Incarnate. Wouldn't it seem logical that His bloodline would be the purest possible? However, has God ever operated according to human logic? Why did God use such a variety of people – and so many who were less than admirable – in His plan for the birth of His Son? Because God chooses to reveal His power through the unlikely, the illogical, the impossible. Through the weakest of people, His strength is shown. Through the most impossible of circumstances, His power is revealed.
Jesus' lineage illustrates that God can and will use anyone to accomplish His purpose, no matter how imperfect that person is. He does the same today. No matter who you are, no matter what you've done in your life, no matter how imperfect you are – God can and will use you to accomplish His great eternal purpose. Pray with an obedient heart for Him to show you how He can best use you to glorify His name.
